Bill
B. Berke
Bill B. Berke, Esquire grew up in the Tenafly New Jersey area and is a graduate of Riverdale Country School in Bronx, New York in 1979. Mr. Berke received his Bachelor of Science in Business Degree from Indiana University in 1982 and subsequently achieved his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1985. In 1986, Mr. Berke opened his own law firm and has been representing people in Southwest Florida since then. The firms name is now Berke & Lubell, P.A. Mr. Berke was also admitted to the United States District Court, Middle District of the State of Florida in 1987. He was admitted to practice in front of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1994. Mr. Berke is a Florida Bar Board Certified Workers’ Compensation attorney and has been Board Certified since 1998 and was re-certified in 2003. He has tried and mediated hundreds of workers’ compensation cases throughout Florida.
Mr. Berke handles workers’ compensation, social security disability, defective drug/device litigation, junk fax litigation, employment law cases and overtime claims. Mr. Berke and the law firm of Berke & Lubell, P.A. have only represented injured people/plaintiffs and have never represented insurance companies or employers. Mr. Berke is the former President, Vice President and Treasurer of the Cape Coral Bar Association, he is a member of the American Association for Justice, and a member of the Florida Justice Association. Mr. Berke is presently on the board of Florida Workers’ Advocates, which is the State of Florida’s Employee/Claimant’s lawyer organization. He is a member of the Lee County Bar Association, and is a member of the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Executive Counsel.
Mr. Berke is a former trustee and now is a board member of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, he is a board member of the Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the Nations Association. Mr. Berke founded and is co-chairman of the SSRI Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. Mr. Berke strives to continue his education and participation as a dedicated activist for his clients. Mr. Berke is a frequent lecturer for workers’ compensation issues and helped found the Lee County Chapter of V.O.I.C.E.S.
Evan
D. Lubell
Evan
D. Lubell is a graduate of Rutgers Law School and is a member in
good standing of the Florida Bar and New Jersey Bar. In addition,
he is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and
is admitted to practice in the Middle District of Florida. After
graduating law school, Mr. Lubell was the South Florida director,
as well as an instructor, for the nations largest test preparation
company, helping aspiring lawyers prepare for the Law School Admissions
Test (LSAT). Mr. Lubell now handles all aspects of personal injury
litigation. Nearly one-third of Mr. Lubell's caseload consists of
cases against insurance companies for improperly refusing to pay
for his clients' medical expenses, making him one of the most experienced
and qualified attorneys in Lee County, Florida in this area of law.
He has held seminars at his office for the benefit of local doctors
and lawyers to keep them up to date on any changes in the insurance
laws. Recently, Mr. Lubell received one of the largest jury verdicts
in Lee County, after a jury awarded his client nearly two million
dollars for wrongfully discharging him in violation of the Americans
with Disabilities Act.
